F-20 · Who Uses AI at Work

How many employers provide AI tools, guidance or training to staff?

About half of workers say their employer has brought in AI tools, 42 to 49 percent in 2024 to 2026, but only 25 to 40 percent report a clear AI plan or policy. Counted by firms instead of workers, adoption is lower: 20 percent of EU firms and 24 percent of US businesses use AI, because most firms are small.

Why medium confidence: Two independent creators with different methods agree in the 40s, but one counts all employees and the other AI users, and about one in five US employees do not know what their employer has done. Firm counts from two official statistics agencies are reliable on their own terms and are shown separately.

How many employers train staff on AI?

A minority, though the questions differ. In 2024, 39% of AI users had received AI training from their company (Microsoft). In Denmark, 39% of employers that encourage AI chatbots provide training. About 15% of AI-using US firms report training staff (Census, late 2025). Where employers combine encouragement, tools and training, 93% of Danish workers in exposed jobs use AI, against about 41% where employers do nothing.
